“Pierce’s performance is a fast, pulsating tour de force… I’d be willing to bet that all of our hearts were beating precisely in sync with the cadence of Pierce’s masterful delivery.”
– Krista Garver on JAMES X, Broadway World
“Add to Mash, Darius Piece’s droll, ever-deepening portrayal of Dev, and one has the making of a one of the most memorable onstage couples. Pierce brings an understated, perfectly timed comic deference to Dev, who pines for his beloved Mash with a purity that belies his jesterish exterior. Pierce’s Dev speaks to the imperfections in all of us, and perhaps more than anyone on stage, we want him to find happines.”
– Elizabeth Bruce on STUPID FUCKING BIRD, MD Theatre Guide
“Darius Pierce is a terrific actor; I’ve seen him in a number of plays, and he has an extraordinary ability to hold an audience with just his voice… We really don’t get to know Crumpet as a character beyond a few details provided in the beginning of the piece, but Pierce makes him into a fully realized person.”
– Patrick Brassell on SANTALAND DIARIES, Broadway World
“For almost 90 minutes with no breaks, actors Cristi Miles and Darius Pierce impressively embody the emotionally athletic process of trying to feel, grow, and lead a life with someone. They’re exceptionally moving, funny, and not entirely likeable.”
– Thomas Alexander Ross on LUNGS, Portland Mercury
